Aged Care Employee Day on Saturday 7 August is an annual celebration supporting and honouring Australia’s aged care workforce. This year we reflect on the current state of the world, the bushfires earlier in the year, floods and the COVID-19 pandemic. We appreciate the tireless endeavour of those committed to keeping older Australians safe and well, supported and connected to those they hold dear.
Unlike those of us who’ve had the option to shelter at home, frontline workers continue to show up to the coalface. Their incredible efforts make it possible for all of us to continue our everyday lives.
They are carers, nurses, cooks, cleaners and chaplains. They are also workers in lifestyle, allied health, administration, maintenance and corporate services. They work in our residences, in people’s homes, and remotely, creating a tightly woven network of professional care and support. And they share a passion for making a difference in people’s lives.
You’re invited to say #ThanksforCaring
This year, we encourage aged care services and the general public to celebrate aged care employees, their continued plight and show your appreciation for the work they do day in, day out.
Download and print posters from the Aged Care Employee Day website to display in your workplace and get everyone on board.
